Scripture – “On that very day Abraham took his son Ishmael and all those born in his household or bought with his money, every male in his household, and circumcised them, as God told him.”
Genesis 17:23 NIV
Observation – God commanded Abraham, as part of his covenant to make Abraham into a great nation, to circumcise his entire household. Abraham obeyed immediately.
Application – To delay is to disobey. Do you carry out God’s commands when it is convenient or do you prioritize God’s commands above your own? Acts 13:22 says, “After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’” Do you want to be a man after God’s own heart. Obey God.
Prayer – Lord Jesus, help us to have a heart for you evidenced by obedience. Amen.
