Scripture – “The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12‬:‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Observation – One of the main character traits of a fool is they think they are always right. A wise person on the other hand will consider other’s advice in hopes of understanding the best course of action. 

Application – There are two types of fools. One fool is unaware of the truth. The other type of fool doesn’t care about the truth. Another term for the first fool is simple. While they don’t know the truth they are willing to listen. The second fool is a scoffer and a mocker. Their pride won’t allow them to be open to advice or instruction. When they do research they always look for information that will support their opinions. Beware of spending time with these people: Proverbs 9:7 says, “Whoever corrects a mockery invites insult; whoever rebukes a wicked man incurs abuse”

Prayer – Lord Jesus, you gave your disciples good advice, “If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.” Amen.
