Scripture – “As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.”
Mark 5:18-20 NIV
Observation – Jesus heals the demon-possessed man and is now ready to leave. The man begs Jesus to let him go with him but Jesus says, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.”
Application – If you are a follower of Jesus you have been forgiven and have received the gift of salvation and assurance of eternal life through the death and resurrection of Jesus. You know that you will not be condemned when God judges the living and the dead, you have crossed over from death to life. Jesus promises you eternal life, you shall never perish and no one can snatch you out of his hand. Your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers need to hear your testimony so that they too can be saved. Tell them how much the Lord has done for you and how he has had mercy on you. Please review the following verses and you pray for the lost people in your life (John 3:3, John 3:16, John 3:18 and John 3:36)
Prayer – Lord, we know the end is coming and you will judge mankind based on their faith or rejection of you. I pray that all of us would tell people how much you have done for us and how you have had mercy on us.
