Scripture – “Wisdom reposes in the heart of the discerning and even among fools she lets herself be known.”
Proverbs 14:33 NIV
Observation – Reposes means a state of resting or being at rest and discerning means to have good judgment and the ability to notice small details. Wisdom is always quietly present for the prudent person and guides them in making good decisions. They don’t allow fear, anger or greed to direct them but they trust in God to lead them to the place they should go.
Application – Does wisdom rest in you or is it elusive. Do you find yourself making poor decisions that lead to difficult outcomes or are you trusting in God to work on your behalf by obeying his commands. Spending time with God, other believers, reading his word, praying and memorizing scripture are all important ways to create a mind, body and spirit where wisdom can repose.
Prayer – Lord, most of us take in so much information all day that we don’t stop and consider why we feel the way we do and what thoughts and information are guiding us in our decisions. I pray that we would all seek wisdom so that we can be discerning and act in way that bring you glory.
