Scripture – “Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them.”
Proverbs 4:5 NIV
Observation – God is telling us to get wisdom and understanding by reading his word and then warning us not swerve from them.
Application – Swerve means to turn abruptly from a straight course. God is telling us not to do it because he loves us and swerving will harm us. If you swerve in a car you may get in an accident if you swerve from God’s word you will end up in a spiritual ditch.
Prayer – Lord help up to embrace your word and your character, help us to trust in you with all our hearts and not to lean on our own understanding, to acknowledge you in all we do and trust that you will make our paths straight.
