Scripture – “The Lord is exalted, for he dwells on high; he will fill Zion with his justice and righteousness. He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.”
Isaiah 33:5-6 NIV
Observation – God will fill Zion with his justice and righteousness. He is a sure foundation for you and a rich store of salvation, wisdom and knowledge. The fear of God is the key to salvation, wisdom and knowledge.
Application – I don’t know if God meant for us to read verses 5 and 6 like this but what I see is that justice and righteousness are what the people of God long for in their lives. For justice to be enforced someone has to be in the wrong, they need to be called out for what they did and some type of punishment, restitution or discipline has to follow. If God is our foundation will we understand that we are sinners that need a savior which will enable us to live out our faith with wisdom and knowledge and avoid being the person that justice is leveled against.
Prayer – Lord, thank you for saving us and showing us how to live. Give us more faith and trust in you so that we live righteous lives. Amen.
