Scripture – “The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever. My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭32‬:‭17‬-‭18‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Observation – God says that the fruit of righteousness will be peace and its result, or impact, will be quietness and confidence forever so that God’s people will live in peace, in secure homes and enjoy undisturbed places of rest.

Application – A popular topic on health podcasts is sleep optimization. They tell you to wake up around the same time each day, go outside and get sunlight early in the day, stop drinking caffeine by noon, do resistance training, stop eating 2-3 hours before bed, use red light an hour before bed, no screens an hour before bed, take a shower, stretch, keep your room between 60-67 degrees, read a book and use black out shades. If you can do all this you will get 7-9 hours of good sleep. Another way to get a good night of rest is to tell God and people you are sorry for the things that you did that are wrong. Thank God for giving you life and live a kind, pure life. Sin, which leads to a broken relationship with God and people, robs more people of sleep than anything else. Confess your sins and God will forgive you and give you peace and an undisturbed place of rest.

Prayer – Lord Jesus, I thank you that we can come to you and to others and say we are sorry and be forgiven and restored. I thank you that when we live a righteous life you give us peace and rest. Amen.
