Scripture – “But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.”
Matthew 15:18-19 NIV
Observation – The crazy things you say are coming from your heart. They aren’t harmless or just funny, they are full of murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony and slander.
Application – All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. There is no one righteous, not even one. If you think you are a “good” person write down your thoughts and words for a couple of days and then repent! Some people are more reserved and quiet than others so you might think they are pure, if their thoughts were projected on a screen for all to see everyone would think there was an evil person in their midst and they would be right.
Prayer – Jesus thank you for dying for us so we could be forgiven and for giving us new hearts that are sensitive to, not only what we do, but what we think and say. Amen.
