Are you living in fear? How come?

Scripture – “The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Observation – God is his light and his salvation and the stronghold of his life, as a result, David says he won’t fear all of these terrifying circumstances because his confidence is in God not in himself.

Application – What are you afraid of? Have you talked to God, who is your light and your salvation? Can you say with confidence that God is your stronghold? Many Christians live in fear because they know deep down in their heart that they aren’t living for God, they are living for themselves and asking God to bless their little kingdom as opposed to living for the Kingdom of Heaven. When we know that we aren’t doing what is right we avoid God or we come to him sheepishly hoping he will rescue us. Give yourself fully to Jesus and then you will be able to say, “The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.”
