Scripture – ““Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 6:1 NIV
Observation – Do good because God wants you to not so that others will think you are great.
Application – We often forfeit our reward from God in exchange for people’s admiration. God says you don’t get both, you pick which one you want. If you get people’s praise, that is your reward, you got what you wanted. If you keep it between you and God he rewards you. Which one do you think is better?
Prayer – Lord, change our hearts so we get a 1000 times more joy pleasing you rather than people. Amen.
