Scripture – ““This, then, is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. ’”
Matthew 6:9-13 NIV
Observation – Jesus was teaching his disciples and when he began to teach about prayer he instructed his disciples to pray “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. ’”
Application – It is interesting, I listen to a lot of people pray and I rarely hear this prayer or this type of prayer. I wonder why. If this is what Jesus told us to do we should do it.
Prayer – Lord may you be honored and loved by the people you made, I pray that we do your will while we are on earth, thank you for providing for us, give us strength to forgive those who have sinned against us like you forgive us and I pray that you keep us off the path of wicked and protect us from the evil one. Amen.
