Scripture – “This only have I found: God created mankind upright, but they have gone in search of many schemes.””
Ecclesiastes 7:29 NIV
Observation – God made people to be good but we have decided to leave the righteous path that God has laid out for us and have gone in search of many schemes.
Application – A common question regarding the existence of God or the existence of a good God is the question of evil. If God is good why do so many bad things happen? The answer is found is Ecclesiastes 7:29, God made us to be upright but we have decided to disobey God’s commands and do things our way which leads to broken relationships, pain and loss. If you doubt this, consider the following question, Have you broken God’s commands? Have you ever lied, stolen, taken God’s name in vain or looked at a person with lust in your heart? Those are only 4 of the 10. If you have 8 billion people on the planet sinning the world is going to be a mess. The good news is Jesus, he came to pay for your sins, give you a brand new heart and make you new.
Prayer – Lord, I pray that people would see themselves for who they are truly are, a broken person that needs to repent and be forgiven and made new. I thank you that you don’t turn your back on people who are truly sorry.
