Scripture – “The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride.”
Ecclesiastes 7:8 NIV
Observation – Completing what we start takes hard work, discipline and persistence. Being a patient person is better than being a proud person.
Application – Do you have unfinished projects littering your life. Why is that? Are you known as prideful or patient. It is hard to be both. The proud person thinks they are always rights so they don’t listen to others. The patient person is humble and considers others thoughts, feelings and opinions as they make decisions.
Prayer – Lord, give us a heart of wisdom to carefully consider where we place our energy in this life so we don’t start things and not finish them. Give us patience with ourselves and our fellow man so that we don’t become arrogant fools. Amen.
