Scripture – “Joshua said to all the people, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Long ago your ancestors, including Terah the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the Euphrates River and worshiped other gods. But I took your father Abraham from the land beyond the Euphrates and led him throughout Canaan and gave him many descendants. I gave him Isaac, and to Isaac I gave Jacob and Esau. I assigned the hill country of Seir to Esau, but Jacob and his family went down to Egypt.”
Joshua 24:2-4 NIV
Observation – From Joshua 24:2-13 God speaks through Joshua reminding the Israelites how he has acted on their behalf and taken care of them from the time of Abraham until today.
Application – Take some time today and write a list of everything God has done for you. A good starting place is acknowledging that he placed you on the earth. No one decides to be born, you are just here and God claims that he made you and determined the exact time you would live and the exact place you would live. From there you can thank God for everything you can think of. At the end if you feel like life isn’t what you want it to be ask him for help. He invites you to do this. God longs for you to come to him and ask him for whatever your heart desires, ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you. He loves you and wants to spend time you. Don’t delay!
Prayer – Lord God, you are good, thank you for everything you do for us and for the eternal plans you have for us to be with you. Amen.
