Scripture – “Afterward, Joshua read all the words of the law—the blessings and the curses—just as it is written in the Book of the Law. There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded that Joshua did not read to the whole assembly of Israel, including the women and children, and the foreigners who lived among them.”
Joshua 8:34-35 NIV
Observation – God provided a great victory for Israel and following the victory, their leader, Joshua gathered all of Israel and read to them all the blessings and curses in the Book of the Law.
Application – What do you do when God blesses you? Think about the last time you had a big win? How did you respond? Did you take credit? Did you thank God? Joshua shows us how God wants us to respond. It is important to read God’s word in the presence of your family so they don’t attribute blessings in their life to “good luck” or their own deftness.
Prayer – Lord Jesus, you are good and you bless those who follow you and obey your commands. I pray that we would give you glory when you provide victories in our life. Amen.
