Scripture – “What the wicked dread will overtake them; what the righteous desire will be granted. When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭10‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Observation – Wicked people reap what they sow and the things they fear their entire lives ultimately overtake them. The righteous also reap what they sow and God rewards them with eternal life.

Application – Look at the mean people you know that don’t treat others well and have no fear of God. They live lives marked by greed, anger, pride and fear of death. They won’t tell you this, they dress themselves every morning with arrogance and walk around with their heads held high, but in the quiet of the night, as they ponder their future, the reality of fleeting health, dependence on others and death overtake them. God allows them to feel this way so that they might reach out to him, the one who defeated death, and grant them forgiveness and eternal life.

Prayer – Lord, I thank you for the quiet confidence of those that love you because in the midst of the storm they know that you will never leave them or forsake them.
