Scripture – “Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin: He will snatch you up and pluck you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living. The righteous will see and fear; they will laugh at you, saying, “Here now is the man who did not make God his stronghold but trusted in his great wealth and grew strong by destroying others!” But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭52‬:‭5‬-‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Observation – Those that reject God and trust in their wealth will be brought down to everlasting ruin and will be uprooted from the land of the living. Those that trust in God’s unfailing love will flourish in the house of God.

Application – We all trust in something. If a person applies logic to their life they can come to the following conclusion. They didn’t choose to be born, they didn’t create the world around them, give themselves the natural gifts they have that others don’t possess and they know they will die one day. God desires that each of us respond to his call on our life and pursue him. This is the purpose of our lives on this earth and determines our eternal destiny. God gives us the light of creation, the light of our conscience and the light of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection all to draw people to himself.

Prayer – Lord, I pray for my friends and family that they would respond to you, that they would desire to know the creator of the universe personally and be drawn to the love you have for them based on the fact that they are here on the planet. Amen
