Scripture – “Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.”
1 Timothy 6:17-18 NIV
Observation – If God has given you the ability to produce wealth don’t brag about, act like a big shot or put your hope in it. Put your hope in God who richly provides for us and use your wealth to help others.
Application – Come up with a plan that prioritizes giving so that your life isn’t dominated by materialism and accumulation. If you are married you need to involve your spouse and pray about how you will accomplish this.
Prayer – Lord, you do richly provide us with good things. Help us to keep our eyes fixed on you and not on what you give us. Amen.
