Scripture – “Blessed is the one who always trembles before God, but whoever hardens their heart falls into trouble.”
Proverbs 28:14 NIV
Observation – Blessed is the one who ALWAYS trembles before God, but whoever hardens their heart falls into trouble.
Application – We can being doing great in 99 out of 100 areas of our lives but that one area that is not under God’s authority will cause us to fall into trouble. The consequences of this, what we might call minor disobedience, will affect every part of our life. If you are serving God, reading the Bible, sharing your faith, giving to the poor, investing in your family but you drink too much one out of a hundred days you are going to fall into trouble. God wants you to ALWAYS respect and obey him, not just 99% of the time.
Prayer – Lord, deliver us from the notion that we are doing “pretty good” and help us to rely on your strength and the Holy Spirit to love you with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength. Amen.
