Scripture – “The hearts of the wise make their mouths prudent, and their lips promote instruction. Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Observation – Verse 23 states that we choose how we speak, “the wise MAKE their mouths prudent” and verse 24 tells us that our words can be used to encourage and heal.

Application – How are you choosing to use your words. Are you using your words to encourage and bring healing to peoples lives or tear them down and cause destruction. If you are wise you will be careful in your selection of what to say and how to say it. If you are struggling in this area think of the person you are speaking to as someone’s wife or daughter or husband or son. No one wants their loved ones spoken to in an unkind or rude way.

Prayer – Lord Jesus, you have given us a tremendous amount of responsibility in how we use our words. I pray that your Spirit guides us so that you are pleased with us and the people around us feel loved. Amen.
