Scripture – “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.””
Psalms 92:12-15 NIV
Observation – God’s plan for the righteous is that they will continue to flourish and produce fruit for this kingdom in their old age. God will keep them “fresh and green”.
Application – When your kid’s grow up and leave your home you will have more free time than you have had for decades. How will you use that time? If you love God and are living for Jesus that time should be used to stay close to him and produce fruit for him. Don’t worry, there will still be plenty of time to relax and reflect. His desire for you is to be a light for him, when you choose to love and serve him he gives you energy and enthusiasm!
Prayer – Lord, I pray that every “old” believer would choose to serve and love you so they can bear fruit for you and proclaim that you are upright, that you are their rock!
