Scripture –

“Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.”

Proverbs 6:6–8 (NIV)

Observation –

God points lazy people to ants for wisdom. An ant doesn’t wait for direction or motivation from above. No one has to tell it to get moving. When conditions are good—when the sun is out and food is available—it works. Quietly. Consistently. It prepares in advance so that when winter comes, it isn’t scrambling.

Application –

When an ant works, it looks like nothing is happening. You have to get on your knees just to notice the tiny crumb it’s carrying. But that same small effort, repeated hour after hour and day after day, produces abundance. The ant accomplishes a lot by doing a little—a lot.

We may say, “That won’t make a difference.” One prayer. One conversation. One page read. One workout. One act of obedience. One disciplined decision. It all feels too small to matter.

Big change almost never comes from dramatic moments—it comes from ordinary faithfulness stacked over time.

Prayer –

Lord, thank you for such a great example in the ant. I pray that everyone that calls on your name would be faithful all day, everyday in every way. Amen.
