Scripture – “Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.””
Acts 14:17 NIV
Observation – Paul is telling people, that worship fake gods, that the one true God loves them and shows them kindness by providing rain, soil and seeds, so that they can have plenty of food each day.
Application – Atheists and skeptics seem to focus on what is wrong with this world and based on their observations come to the conclusion that God doesn’t exist. Believers stand in awe and wonder when they consider how incredible creation is and how many conditions have to be precisely met for life to be possible. The atheist and skeptic believes all of this is an accident. God says that his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen from what has been made so that men are without excuse (look up anthropic principle)
Prayer – Lord, I pray you open the eyes and hearts of people who believe that everything came from nothing and that life came from non-life. I pray they can see the miracles that occur everyday in front of them and take them to heart so that they can know you. Amen.
