Scripture – “The king rejoices in your strength, Lord. How great is his joy in the victories you give!”
Psalms 21:1 NIV
Observation – David is praising God for God’s strength and for the victories he has given to David.
Application – A lot of people call on the Lord for help when they are in trouble. This verse is about recognizing God when things are going great for you. If you love God and believe that he is active in your life praise him when the wind is at your back. Cultivate a habit of praising God for small and significant victories in your life. We just celebrated Christmas yesterday. We don’t want to be like little kids who open one present and move on to the next one without saying thank you.
Prayer – Lord Jesus, thank you for everything you do for us. Thank you for the victories you give us and how you look out for us everyday. Amen.
