Scripture – “When words are many sin is not absent but he who holds his tongue is wise.”
Proverbs 10:19 NIV
Observation – It is impossible to gossip, boast, hurt someone’s feelings or offend someone if you don’t say anything.
Application – Some people are naturally quiet and some people like to express their opinions on every matter. If your words are many you need to be careful that you are not just talking because you like the sound of your own voice. The Bible says that if we talk a lot we will eventually sin with our words. If you are someone that loves to talk ask yourself before you speak if you are adding value to the conversation.
Prayer – Lord, help all of us that like to speak to be quick to listen and careful with our words today. Amen.
