Scripture – “His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior; the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.”
Psalms 147:10-11 NIV
Observation – God looks at things differently than we do. God delights in those who fear him and put their hope in his unfailing love. Man looks at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart.
Application – I watched the majority of a NFL game last night with my wife and son. These athletes look superhuman. I doubt anyone watching the game was meditating on this verse but this is why God is God. He delights in those who fear him and who put their hope in his unfailing love not in the legs of the warrior.
Prayer – Lord I pray that you give us hearts that view the world as you do. Amen.
