Scripture – “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12:2 NIV
Observation – This passage instructs us not to follow the ways of this world but to be transformed by making our minds new. When we give our lives to Jesus, follow him, study his word and obey his commands we will know what God’s will is for our lives.
Application – People want to know what God’s plan is for their lives. They long to know why they are here and what they are supposed to do. Scripture tells us that he who is faithful with a few things will be entrusted with many things. If you want to know God’s will for your life Romans 12:2 tells us we need renew our mind, this only occurs through reading God’s work and obeying it in every area. When we are faithful in obeying how we are supposed to speak, treat others and serve God he will reveal more of his will to us.
Prayer – Lord, don’t let us neglect what we view as small things in order to know what the big things are, strengthen us to be faithful with everything. Amen.
