Scripture – “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭17‬:‭22‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Observation – When a person is hopeful about today and tomorrow, not only are they emotionally happy but they feel good physically. If a person views their future as bleak their spirit is crushed and it affects their health.

Application – There are many things we can do to make ourselves cheerful; praying, reading God’s word, doing our best, being disciplined in exercising and with what we eat and drink, spending time with friends and family. We can help others replace their crushed spirit with a cheerful heart by smiling at them, asking questions about their lives, complimenting them and offering to pray for them. We don’t want anyone walking around feeling hopeless. Do what you can today to help someone feel loved and cared for.

Prayer – Dear Jesus, I pray for those out there that feel depleted and anxious today. I pray that a friend would come to their aid and build them up. Amen.
