Scripture – “An evil man is bent only on rebellion; a merciless official will be sent against him.” Proverbs 17:11
Observation – When people do evil things God sends a merciless official after him. This is why we love vigilante movies and movies about law enforcement chasing a person down even though they are putting themselves in danger. We are drawn to stories like this because God has put justice in our hearts.
Application – Most people don’t want to be the official that is sent against the evil man because it requires sacrifice and is risky. That official is also hated by the man he is hunting down along with everyone that is supporting the evil man. Be grateful for merciless officials.
Prayer – Lord, you are perfectly merciful to all who ask for your forgiveness and accept Jesus death on the cross. I thank you that you have designated merciless officials to bring evil men to justice so we can be safe.
