Scripture – “Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot. They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?” “They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.” At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus. He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?” Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.” Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”).”

‭‭John‬ ‭20‬:‭11‬-‭16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Observation – Jesus has been crucified and buried, Mary goes to the tomb on Sunday morning and sees that the stone sealing the tomb has been moved. Two angels asked her why he is crying and then she sees the resurrected Jesus.

Application – This account is true or it isn’t. If it isn’t true then Christianity is a false religion and the billions of people that claim to be Christians have chosen the wrong path in life because they are trying to convince other people to become Christians and give their money to the poor and spend a lot of time reading a book that tells lies and praying to a god that doesn’t exist. If it is true then Jesus is exactly who he claimed to be and on everyone’s eternal destiny rests on their decision to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior or reject him. There is no middle ground here, you are either for him or against him.

Prayer – Lord, I believe this is true so I will keep telling others about you.
