Scripture – “Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless. With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭108‬:‭12‬-‭13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Observation – David’s faith is so strong and he knows that God is powerful and is capable of changing the outcome of events through his supernatural intervention. David is expecting, not only not make it through the battle alive, but for victory.

Application – How do we develop a faith that truly believes that God will give us aid against our enemy and how do we develop a mindset that expects victory and not just survival. Through praying, reading scripture and writing psalms David grew to love God and understand his promises and his character. David learned to trust God by taking action and obeying his word. This is a good plan for us. If you are doubting God’s care for you and your goal is just to survive the day begin spending more time with God by reading the Bible everyday and setting time aside to pray. During your reading when you see a command from God put it into practice and ask God to give you a heart that delights in obeying his word. Through this you too will be able to say that God is supporting you and giving you victory.

Prayer – Lord, we all want to believe like David, that you will give us aid against our enemies and that through you we will gain the victory. I pray we begin prioritizing time with you so that we know your heart and can apply it. Amen
