Scripture – “There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.”
Proverbs 6:16-19 NIV
Observation – Most people think they are good and are living a life that pleases God. God says that the seven sins above are detestable to him. All of us have done at least six of these seven things.
Application – While we have committed these sins God still loves us and wants us to come to him and ask him for forgiveness so he can purify us from all unrighteousness. This is why Jesus died, to pay for our sins and bring us into a right relationship with God. If you haven’t come to Jesus you are still in your sins.
Prayer – Holy Spirit I pray that you convict the world of sin so that people desire forgiveness and wholeness. Amen.
