Scripture – “Whoever hates me hates my Father as well.”

‭‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭23‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Observation – The Bible says that Jesus is the exact representation of the invisible God, that he and the Father are one and he told Philip, that when Philip saw Jesus he saw the Father. The Bible teaches there is one God and God is the relationship between the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In other words there is one “What” which is God and three “who’s”, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, this relationship between the three is the essence of God. If you hate Jesus you hate the Father because they are one.

Application – When people say that Jews, Muslims and Christians all serve the same God and the only difference is how they view Jesus they are in conflict with what Jesus says. Jesus clearly states that if anyone hates him they hate the Father. One might say that they don’t hate Jesus but respect him as a great teacher or a great prophet. Again that person would be in conflict with Jesus when he says, “I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.”” John‬ ‭8‬:‭24‬. Saying that you worship the Father without worshipping the Son is idol worship because the God you are claiming to worship is not the God that has revealed himself in Scripture. There is only one God who is the dynamic relationship between the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Prayer – Lord I pray that all would see that you are who you claim to be and that they would come to you to be forgiven and accepted into your family.
