Scripture – ““Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.”
John 5:24 NIV
Observation – Jesus is claiming that if someone believes that God the Father sent Jesus to earth to die for our sins that person won’t be judged for their sins, they will inherit eternal life and will cross over from death to life.
Application – Open up Exodus 20 and read the Ten Commandments and honestly ask yourself how you have done in keeping God’s commandments for your life? What you will find is that you can’t count how many time you have broken God’s law. The wages you receive for your sin is spiritual death. Jesus came to pay for your sins on the cross so you don’t have to. Confess your sins today and give your life to Jesus, he promises that you will, in an instant, inherit eternal life and cross over from death to life. “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”
Romans 8:1-4 NIV
Prayer – Lord Jesus, I pray that you take the fear from people that are afraid to surrender their life to you because they think that they will have to go to Africa as a missionary and won’t have fun anymore. I pray that they would see that you are good and have a life planned for them that is much better that what they have manufactured on their own. Amen.
