Scripture – ““When the princes in Israel take the lead, when the people willingly offer themselves— praise the Lord!”
Judges 5:2 NIV
Observation – This is the beginning of a song Deborah and Barak sang after a huge victory over Canaan. They are praising the princes of Israel for leading the people and praising the people for volunteering and putting their lives at risk. Later on in the song they criticize those who didn’t come to help.
Application – Where are you when work needs to be done. Do you step up and use your skills to serve and help or do you let someone else do it. What gifts has God given you that he wants you to use for his kingdom?
Prayer – Lord Jesus, give us willing hearts to lead and to help so that more people can know about you and so the people in this world who feel neglected can experience love. Amen.
