Scripture – “The simple believe anything, but the prudent give thought to their steps.”
Proverbs 14:15 NIV
Observation – Simple people, those who have not yet been trained by wisdom, are susceptible to lies and deception but a prudent person thinks about the future consequences of their actions and is careful to make a wise decision.
Application – Take the Sacred Pace process to making decisions; 1-Ask Jesus what he thinks, 2-Seek wise counsel, 3-Watch for circumstances and 4-Get neutral. Once you have done this and your only goal is to make a decision that pleases God you will be have exercised prudence and given thought to your steps.
Prayer – Lord Jesus, I pray for my brothers and sisters, that we would be careful in our decision making and would keep in mind that some people don’t have our best interests at heart. I pray that our emotions don’t get the best of us so that we make a bad decision that we live to regret.
