Scripture – “No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.”
1 John 3:9-10 NIV
Observation – If you have been born again you will stop sinning intentionally.
Application – If you have acknowledged that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead the Bible says you are saved. If you are saved you have been born again and crucified with Christ so that you no longer live but Christ lives in you. As a result you cherish Jesus more than you cherish sin. If you intentionally continuing sinning and yet call Jesus your Lord you have a problem with God and need to make a decision if you are going to repent and follow God or reject him and be your own god. You don’t get to proclaim Jesus is Lord and continue to sin.
Prayer – Lord, I pray that all believers would quit caring about what a lost world thinks about their behavior and begin to live holy lives. Let us all love the lost and live holy lives at the same time, that is a great witness to a world that is perishing. Amen.
