Scripture – ““Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.””
Joshua 1:7-9 NIV
Observation – God was reminding Joshua to read God’s word everyday so that he would be careful to do everything in it and then he would be prosperous and successful. God commanded Joshua to be strong and courageous and promised that he would be with Joshua wherever he went.
Application – This command and promise is for us as well. If we read God’s word everyday and put it into practice God promises that we will prosperous and successful and that he will be with us wherever we go. It is important to understand what success is from God’s perspective versus ours so that you can praise him for his faithfulness.
Prayer – Lord, we need to constantly remember that you are with us wherever we go so that we don’t succumb to fear. Thank you for your promises. Amen.
