Scripture – “Sluggards do not plow in season; so at harvest time they look but find nothing.”
Proverbs 20:4 NIV
Observation – The future is disappointing when you don’t do what you are supposed to do when you are supposed to do it.
Application – This verse applies to every area of our lives. If we desire a future result we need to work toward that goal. If you want good kids you need to put in the time loving and disciplining them when they are young. If you want to earn a better income you need to work hard doing the things that lead to more commission, a raise or a promotion. If you want to buy a home you need to budget and save so you can have a down payment. If you want a better relationship with God you need to spend time with him today.
Prayer – Lord, I pray we would use our time wisely today so that the future is filled with promise and not regret and fear. Amen.
