Scripture – “He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.””
Luke 11:28 NIV
Observation – Jesus plainly tells us that if we truly want to be blessed we will read God’s word and obey it.
Application – Are you experiencing the full life that Jesus promises in John 10:10. If not it could be that you haven’t trusted Jesus with every area of your life. You may be reading the Bible everyday, tithing, drinking in moderation (or not drinking at all) you don’t say bad words, you smile and say hello to people and pay your taxes in full and on time. Outwardly you look good but how is your inward self. Are you concerned for the lost? Are you sharing the gospel? Are you gossiping and holding grudges. Are your efforts in this life focused on your earthly kingdom or are you seeking first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness. Examine your life and see where you are not in alignment with God. If you desire to be blessed and live at peace with Jesus read his word and obey it.
Prayer – Dear Jesus, I pray for everyone who knows you, that they would read your word, hear it and put it into practice. Amen.
