Scripture – “But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,”
Titus 3:4-5 NIV
Observation – God saves people, not because of the good things they do but because he is full of grace and mercy. Our good thoughts, words and deeds don’t outweigh or cross out our bad thoughts, words and deeds. If you steal a car and later in your life you give millions of dollars away to charity you are still a thief that deserves judgement, you are just a guilty thief that is trying to pacify their conscience. Forgiveness and salvation can only come by grace through faith alone in Christ alone because he paid for your sins on the cross. Your sins were wiped out because Jesus paid the penalty.
Application – This salvation is available for all people but it requires faith in Jesus and confession. It is available to those who confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that God raised him from the dead. If you know you are a sinner and want to be forgiven confess your sins and ask Jesus to purify you and surrender your life to him today.
Prayer – Lord, I pray you open people’s eyes so they can see themselves as they truly are, sinners that need to be forgiven and reborn into the people you created them to be. Amen.
