Scripture – “Death and Destruction lie open before the Lord— how much more do human hearts!”
Proverbs 15:11 NIV
Observation – A person can cloak their true motives behind pleasant words, charity work and a beautiful family and house but God knows each person’s heart. This doesn’t mean that everyone that is nice, helps others and has a great family is evil, it means that God’s sees through us, he knows our real desires. We can say all the right things and do all the right things but God knows if our hearts our bitter and selfish.
Application – The Bible says that no one will be declared righteous by observing the law, rather through the law we become conscious of our sins. God already knows who you are, be honest with him and confess your sins and ask him to give you a new heart that loves him and desires the best for others.
Prayer – Dear Jesus, I pray that you would open the eyes of those that think they are doing great on their own and don’t need you. I pray that you would allow them to see the parts of themselves that need healing and forgiveness. Amen.
