Proverbs 29:11 NIV May 29th, 2025
Observation – People provide all kinds of reasons for their anger and most of the time they compliment themselves while making excuses for their outbursts. They will say that they are so passionate or competitive that they just couldn’t help it. God says you are a fool when show your anger.
Application – God knows we will get angry, he gave us this emotion to move us to take action in order to right a wrong. Most people don’t use anger this way, they give full vent to their anger when they don’t get what they want, like a little kid at a store. Take inventory of all the things that make you angry and figure out why they cause you to lose control. If there is a situation you can avoid through preparation or elimination, do it. If not think about how to express yourself in a way that honors God and the people around you. But whatever you do quit telling people that your anger towards them is because of how much you care, no one believes you.
Prayer – Lord, I pray for all of us that you would remind us, as we start to feel angry, that you think we are fools when we give full vent to our anger.
