Scripture – “And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him,”
Luke 1:76 NIV
“A voice of one calling: “In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.”
Isaiah 40:3 NIV
““I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the Lord Almighty.”
Malachi 3:1 NIV
Observation – John’s father, when he was born, declared in Luke 1:76 that John would go on before the Lord and prepare the way for him. Isaiah prophesied the same thing 750 years before John was born and Malachi did the same 430 years before John was born.
Application – Predictive prophecy is one of the reasons a person should trust the Bible. What other book specifically tells us what will happen in the future?
Prayer – Lord I pray that people would seek you and realize that you are exactly who you say you are. Amen.
