Scripture – “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience,”
Colossians 1:9-11 NIV
Observation – Paul and his friends were praying for the Christians at Colosse that God would fill them with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives so that they could live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way, bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of him and being strengthened with God’s power so that they would have great endurance and patience.
Application – In order to know God’s will through the wisdom and understanding the Spirit gives we need to spend a lot of time with Jesus so when he speaks we know his voice. The Spirit will never give wisdom and knowledge that contradicts scripture. When we know his will he will fill us with power to carry it out. If we abide in him he will also provide us with great endurance and patience.
Prayer – Dear Jesus, I pray this for me and for every believer. What a great what to live. Amen.
