Scripture – “An unfriendly man pursues selfish ends; he defies all sound judgement.”
Proverbs 18:1 NIV
Observation – People that primarily look out only for themselves are by definition selfish, as long as things go well for them they are satisfied. Living for self is against God’s plan for man. We are to be in a community, working together to bring about good for one another. A person defies all sound judgement when they are only interested in their own success.
Application – If you are a Lone Ranger in life pray about who God wants you to help and then make time for it.
Prayer – Lord, there is a lot of pressure on people to be successful in this world. I pray that we would understand that the best way to get what we want in life is to help others get what they want. Amen.
