Scripture – “Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth. He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.”
Proverbs 10:4-5 NIV
Observation – If you are lazy you will be poor and a disgrace to yourself and your family, if you work hard and exercise wisdom and foresight you will become wealthy.
Application – I’m 56 years old. When I was growing up as a teenager and starting my career hard work was the prescription for success. If you showed up on time, worked hard all day, were prudent in your spending and investing, aside from a disaster, you would become wealthy. Solomon wrote these verses 3,000 years ago, I discovered them 42 years ago, nothing has changed. If you are lazy repent and discipline yourself to work hard.
Prayer – Lord Jesus, thank you for the ability to work. Thank you for the opportunity to provide something valuable to my clients, provide for my family, give to the Church and create wealth.
