Scripture – “Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice? At the highest point along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand; beside the gate leading into the city, at the entrance, she cries aloud: “To you, O people, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind. You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, set your hearts on it. Listen, for I have trustworthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭8‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Observation – God is telling us that wisdom and understanding are not scarce but abundant, they aren’t hiding in a cave in a remote jungle or on top of a secluded mountain with a solitary guru sitting in a the lotus position with lamps burning around him. God proclaims that if you are simple and foolish you can become prudent and wise if you set your heart on the acquisition of wisdom.

Application – Ask God for wisdom, read scripture and apply what he tells you to your life. Discovering what God’s will is for your daily life isn’t difficult but applying it to make it a reality in your life is very hard because it requires denial of self, discipline and sacrifice. If you ask God he will help you with this too.

Prayer – God, I thank you that you haven’t hid your will from us, but as scripture says, wisdom and understanding take their place beside the gate leading to the city. They are right there in plain sight making themselves available to those who truly desire them.
