Scripture – “The Lord’s curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭33‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Observation – God curses wicked people’s lives but he blesses the lives of those who follow him. How does this work and where do we it played out in the everyday lives of people. God makes it a reality because he is in charge of the entire universe. He intervenes in people’s lives and he allows things to happen. There are lots of areas this truth is manifested in the lives of those God curses and those God blesses. God’s curses and blessings show up in a person’s career, their health, motivation, emotions, relationships, decision making, finances, focus and thoughts about the future. I don’t think it is possible for a person who is under the Lord’s curse to live in peace with contentment. I believe they are always anxious and unsatisfied and unable to enjoy the gifts God has given them.

Application – A righteous person doesn’t become righteous because they decide that is who they want to be, it’s a good direction to start walking towards but your flesh will interfere. Righteousness is a work of the Spirit. To become righteous and receive God’s blessings you must confess your sins, submit your life to Jesus, seek God’s precepts and in the power of the Holy Spirit obey God’s commands. This is the path to peace.

Prayer – Lord I pray for the wicked, that they would see themselves for who they truly are, a human being in rebellion against the God of the universe that will perish one day without hope. I pray they would repent and follow you. Amen.
