Scripture – “Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.””
Mark 5:36 NIV
Observation – A man’s daughter had died while Jesus was going to heal her from her sickness. After hearing she had died Jesus told her father not to be afraid, just believe.
Application – This is what Jesus tells us in our difficulties, yet we rarely take his advice. Living in fear causes us to make poor decisions because in our fear state we are just trying to survive. When we believe our minds and bodies are free to make good decisions that benefit us and others and strengthen our trust in God because we believe he will continue to take care of us.
Prayer – Lord Jesus, I pray for your followers that we would make a decision to believe that you are in charge and care for us when we are afraid. Amen.
